the good news is the use of Café Por Favor simultaneously fulfills our objective
of making sure that a fair profit is made by the farmers and workers in
Honduras. How? Because we guarantee to purchase beans from the Honduran
Coop using cost plus pricing which is independent of international market
pricing which remains at an 80-year low.
A 14 ounce bag of coffee that you purchase for four dollars is resold
for 8 dollars. A personalized 16 ounce coffee tumbler which you purchase
for as little as $2.95 is resold for $8. How to get started? A minimum purchase
of $250 and your fund-raiser is underway!
In addition, Café Por Favor makes available support materials to assist
in the successful implementation of your fund-raiser. Support materials
include tote boxes and postcards. Personalization of the
postcards is also available.
So what is the big opportunity? Sustained fund-raiser revenue. The biggest
problem with fund-raisers is that when they are over they are just that...finished!
We believe combining a gourmet specialty coffee with someone who enjoys
coffee and is buying it anyway and who has a genuine interest in the mission
of your organization is an opportunity for sustained revenue. You get
them to join the Café Por Favor coffee club and we will donate a portion
of the revenue back on an ongoing basis to your organization! Two dollars
per bag back to your organization! Yes, two dollars per bag every four
weeks. Ideally your supporters would join the Café Por Favor Club and
receive the minimum three 14 ounce bags every four weeks. One hundred
members in the club would generate 7,800 dollars per year in donations
to your organization from Café Por Favor. Yes, seven thousand eight hundred
dollars. Do you have 100 supporters who drink coffee? Can you get them
to switch to Café Por Favor? Please?
How does this work? When your supporter joins the club, they are asked
at the time of check out who is the fund-raiser recipient? Selected recipients
will receive the donation. A check is issued quarterly when the donation
meets or exceeds 500 dollars.
How do you qualify? You must purchase the 250 dollar minimum of coffee
and or mugs for resale. In addition, candidate organizations interested
in participating in the Café Por Favor internet fund-raiser need to submit
an application to be considered for this additional level of fund-raising.
